Teen DBT Skills Group (Hope Therapeutic Services)

Females group on Wednesdays at 4:30-5:30 pm
Males group on Thursdays at 5:30-6:30 pm
(This is an ongoing group based on individual needs and age groups.)
The Teen DBT group is an opportunity to learn skills, build connections, and explore who you are, what you like, and how you feel. As teenagers, there are often times when you feel misunderstood, dismissed, and unsure of who you are and what we want out of life.
Some of you may be experiencing a wide variety of challenges including self-harming, disordered eating, body image, self-expression, and the pressures from family, school, and friends can sometimes feel very overwhelming.
This group creates the space to let you know you are not alone in what you are experiencing. Being a teen is hard and the goal within this group is to create deep connections with others while building skills to cope with difficult days, find moments to recognize the little joys in life, better manage emotions as they arise, and explore how healthier decision making can lead to a happier and more peaceful life.
This group has a maximum participant number of 6-8 individuals and will be held at our location in Montclair, NJ.
Group participants are welcomed regardless of the type of challenges they are experiencing. Initial conversation prior to joining the group helpful in understanding the best way to care for individual and collective group needs.
