Salvation Army Newark

The Salvation Army Newark Area Services is a representation of programs and services in the City of Newark and its surrounding areas. Each of our services addresses the challenges faced by the working poor, single parents, and families due to aging, hunger, drug abuse, HIV/AIDS, homelessness, and incarceration. In all of these arenas of service, we strive to offer a hand-up, not a handout.

Salvation Army Newark Westside Corps
The Salvation Army Westside Boys and Girls Club After School Program operates Monday through Friday from 2:00-6:00 pm. Participants engage in diverse activities such as Homework Assistance, Recreational Sports, Media and Technology, D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read), and music just to name a few. Our After School Program helps children to thrive as a student and a member of their community.

Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club
We never take a single approach to help kids succeed. It takes caring mentors, such as our trained Club staff. It takes a safe place, like our Clubs that are consistently there for the kids they serve. It takes innovative, quality programs designed to empower youth to excel in school and lead healthy, productive lives. We do whatever it takes to ensure all kids have a great future.
