Essex Valley School is a comprehensive alternative school offering second chances to students who have not been able to find success in traditional public and private schools. We offer a holistic educational program of accredited academic instruction, vocational training, and therapeutic services, all designed to encourage the emotional, intellectual, behavioral, and social growth of each student.

The fundamental purpose of Essex Valley School is to provide a therapeutic and academic environment that is designed to nurture the emotional, intellectual, behavioral and social growth of each student so that he/she may become a contributing member of society. To achieve this purpose, the Essex Valley School shall:
