Intro To Trauma Treatment (for Clinicians)

Therapists, want to feel more competent in treating trauma?

Join us for this training led by Clinical Lead Kris Bendinelli, LPC, DBT-LBC that's designed to assist clinicians in identifying symptoms of trauma, learn about how trauma may manifest in clients, and give tools to utilize when stabilizing trauma symptoms.

This workshop is for you if:

  • Are a therapist without specialized trauma training.
  • Find trauma clients challenging and need effective strategies.
  • Want to master the differences between stage 1 and stage 2 trauma treatment.
  • Aim to acquire skills to stabilize trauma symptoms.
  • Wish to improve your ability to assess trauma symptoms.
  • Want practical tools and techniques for stabilization.

NBCC Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this workshop, clinicians will be able to:

  1. Conceptualize stage 1 vs. stage 2 trauma treatment.
  2. Know the three categories of grounding skills.
  3. Assess trauma symptoms (intrusive, avoidance, hyperarousal, hypoarousal).
  4. Determine if someone is in or out of their window of tolerance.
  5. Apply basics of exposure therapy and prepare an exposure hierarchy with a client.

Recordings will be available to all who register.
